Q&A: Bailey Eilish Ascends as Best Female Cam Model

Q&A: Bailey Eilish Ascends as Best Female Cam Model

After Bailey Eilish graduated from high school in Nashville, Tennessee, her parents convinced her to enroll in college. She ended up at a prestigious arts school in the heart of Philadelphia, to pursue her dream of becoming a dancer. She needed to support herself financially but balancing several jobs with full-time studies proved a challenge, so as the end of her final semester was approaching, she found herself in a predicament.

This was during the very depths of the pandemic. Broadway had shut down, tours were canceled and dance companies were not hiring. With the future of the performing arts industry seeming very uncertain, Eilish needed to figure out how she was going to survive. Her income barely covered her rent and groceries, let alone a student loan bill that amounted to double her rent each month.

My fans definitely know me for my dirty talk, squirt shows and riding my translucent dildo. They also appreciate my personality, cool sneakers and the way I turn my living room floor into an ocean.

She had seen numerous articles online about people turning to adult content creation and streaming, selling pictures of their feet and underwear while making more money than she could even imagine at the time. Finding herself in a tough spot, she decided to give the business a shot herself. After all, she was saddled with over $150,000 in student loan debt.

After some in-depth exploration into the world of sex work, she discovered Chaturbate. Initially, she simply saw camming as a way to promote her OnlyFans and Snapchat to a broader audience, while simultaneously generating income.

Before plunging in, she treated Chaturbate like a university course for about eight months, observing and jotting down notes on show styles, room setups, equipment, lighting, show flow, apps, bots and more. Once she started camming herself and established a steady rhythm, she managed to stay afloat and keep up with her bills, allaying the fear of potential failure.

Now, she is a full-fledged content creation and streaming machine, rocking several hundred thousand fans across her social media, premium platforms and camming network. Newly crowned Best Female Cam Model at the 2023 XBIZ Creator Awards, Eilish opens up about her career path and long-term aspirations in this Cam Star of the Month interview.

XBIZ: How has your relationship with this industry evolved over time?

Eilish: It has evolved so much! At first I got into it as a desperate attempt to make money in order to survive, but once I got afloat monetarily, the shift began. I started to realize the importance of my role and how I was filling a gap: the in-between space of being single and being in a relationship. There are lots of guys out there — single, complicated, married, widowed — looking for conversation, connection and some care.

So while this is my job and I do make money from it, I also became deeply invested in the work I do because I believe in it. I was completely out of the loop when it came to men in the dating world or just men’s perspectives in general before entering this industry. Now, I help men set up their dating profiles, offer them advice when they ask or simply lend an ear to listen to them and what they’re going through.

Do I charge them for this? No. Why? Because I believe in helping and championing others, and if that means taking a few minutes out of my day to do so, then I’ll do it. People remember acts of kindness like that. They remember the ways in which you were there for them. I’m not looking for them to return the favor; I just hope they can walk away feeling a little better than they did when they came to me.

XBIZ: Describe a “typical” cam show for you. What are you known for and what do fans most often request?

Eilish: A typical cam show for me starts with prepping before the show. I have my morning coffee or matcha, charge all my toys, blast the music and hype myself up. Once I go live, I dive right into it. My fans definitely know me for my dirty talk, squirt shows and riding my translucent dildo. They also appreciate my personality, cool sneakers and the way I turn my living room floor into an ocean. They often request riding, squirting and JOI videos.

XBIZ: How has your streaming improved over time in terms of your hardware, onscreen performance and overall approach?

Eilish: My streaming journey has been night-and-day since I first started. Initially, I experimented with various styles and approaches, but none of them seemed to stick because I was trying to emulate other people’s shows instead of creating something unique to me. I was incredibly nervous and shy during my first couple of months streaming. I had never used a dildo, never squirted — and never been naked in front of thousands of people before. At that time, I was streaming from a very dingy room that I had rented. There was no AC and I streamed using just my laptop and phone, without any special lights, equipment or gimmicks.

Through trial and error, experiencing failures but refusing to give up, I gradually started upgrading and evolving my show. My first significant upgrade was finding a new apartment in a better location. I then improved my lighting setup and purchased my very first camera and gaming PC. However, I still kept the gimmicks, furniture and decor to a minimum. The only pieces of furniture I work with are my wooden stool and pink gaming chair, and occasionally my kitchen counter on wild days.

XBIZ: Discuss your photography. What vibe do you strive for and what’s your style?

Eilish: For the most part, I prefer to keep my pictures as amateur as possible. I don’t want to feel too disconnected from real life. I like bright colors and patterns, things that catch the eye — hence my green hair. It’s rare to see me in lingerie; I’m more of a t-shirt, hoodie, sneakers, thong and sweatpants kind of girl. Heels, on the other hand, are reserved for special occasions only.

XBIZ: Talk about your OnlyFans content and what strategies you’ve found success with.

Eilish: My OnlyFans content mainly comprises full-length masturbation videos, which vary in style and toy usage. Examples include JOIs, riding, role-play, squirting, fuck machine and dirty talk. Additionally, you can find content such as naked yoga, stripteases and try-on hauls. From the very beginning, I have always created content that I personally enjoy, and I believe my fans appreciate that about me. I am always open to trying new requests and exploring uncharted territory. It’s important for me to step outside of my comfort zone and expand my content horizon by embracing new ideas.

XBIZ: Any advice for new creators? Things you wish you’d known at the beginning of your career?

Eilish: It may sound cliche, but don’t give up. Read books. Embrace failure and learn from it; some of your most significant learning moments will come from those experiences. Never dismiss a creative idea you have; instead, put in the work to bring it to life. Just when you think you’re working hard, work harder. Avoid putting anyone, including yourself, on a pedestal. If you can’t find the answer to a question right away, don’t get discouraged; most things in life don’t come easily. Keep going and keep striving.

XBIZ: What personal hobbies or passions do you enjoy during downtime?

Eilish: Shamelessly, my work is my biggest hobby. However, on days when I’m not on cam or creating content, you can find me enjoying a happy hour, working out, visiting family, taking my dog out to play ball, reading, traveling or trying out a new recipe in the kitchen.

XBIZ: How do you stay on top of your mental and physical well-being, given the demands of the job?

Eilish: To be honest, I haven’t quite mastered this aspect of the job yet — the balancing act between a job that operates 24 hours a day and maintaining my sanity. However, I believe it just takes time and understanding your own routine. The amount each of us can handle varies, but if you have something you’re working towards, keep that in the back of your mind when fatigue sets in — because it definitely will. What’s pretty great about camming, OnlyFans and being my own boss is that I have the freedom to create my own schedule.

I’ve never functioned well with rigid schedules, and I tend to get easily distracted at times. I try my best to eat healthy and incorporate strength training and stretching into my schedule. I like to jot down my main tasks for the day, any meetings, phone calls, custom requests and so on, on a sticky note. Once I complete those, I sprinkle in any additional tasks I’d like to accomplish or extra activities.

XBIZ: What was it like winning Best Female Cam Model at the XBIZ Creator Awards?

Eilish: Honestly, I didn’t know how to feel at first. I was sitting at the very back of the crowd, and when I heard my name, I was like, “What the shit?” Being fairly new to the adult industry, with only about a year of camming under my belt, being nominated alone was a tremendous honor, let alone winning. It truly solidified all the work I have put in so far — the countless all-nighters, the frustrations and the unwavering determination to keep going. I just felt like, “Wow, you know what? I really did that,” all while maintaining the utmost respect for those who paved the way before me.

XBIZ: Talk about your main ambitions for the rest of 2023 and beyond.

Eilish: Where do I even begin? I constantly have my sights set on the future. My biggest goal for this year is to establish a content house. I aspire to mentor and educate women who are considering entering the digital sex work field. Given that I had to work extra hard and figure everything out on my own, without any shortcuts or assistance, I believe I can offer valuable insights and guidance to women starting their journey. Apart from this goal, I am determined to expand my presence on social media platforms like Instagram, YouTube and TikTok, aiming to reach a wider audience and connect with more people.
