Adultcon7 Takes Over L.A. Convention Center

LOS ANGELES — Now in its third year of promoting and marketing adult industry talent, the promoters of Adultcon are gearing up for their seventh show on Oct. 10 with a roster of big-name adult stars and an expected attendance of more than 2,000 adult fans.

After using hotel venues for the first few years, Adultcon7 is stretching its legs this year at the L.A. Convention Center and is scheduled to open its doors to the public from 1-7 p.m, company vice president Renaud West told XBiz.

Renaud added that getting a contract with the L.A. Convention Center is a big feather in Adultcon's cap and should enable the event to garner a larger attendance and more widespread media attention. The Convention Center also allows promoters more lead time to book future events, unlike hotels.

"We're based on the idea of providing talent with a venue to meet the fans at an affordable price," West said. "We had to decide between increasing attendance by having the exposure of the Convention Center against higher prices. We have kept the price at $100 per booth for talent even though the cost to do the Convention Center is substantially higher."

Owned and operated by Adult Industry Entertainment, the roster of adult starts scheduled to appear at Adultcon7 is estimated at around 70 and will include well-known performers such as Alexis Amore, Hannah Harper, Kelly Klein, Victoria Givens, Aurora Snow, Shy Love, Ron Jeremy, Cherokee and Stephanie Swift.

"The great thing is we encourage beginners to be there because they can get so much exposure with the fans," West continued.

Adultcon7 marks Ron Jeremy's first appearance at the event where he will be promoting his latest film venture, “Barnacle Bill the Sailor,” an MK Multimedia and Steve Banan Entertainment project.

Adultcon7 will also host a post-party at an undisclosed adult entertainment location where talent can dance topless and sell nude or topless Polaroid's to their fans.

According to West, all fans will be admitted to the post-show party for free, where they will get a free calendar and a free ticket to a future adult star boxing event in April at the Convention Center that will be broadcast on pay-per-view and video-on-demand.

Adult Industry Entertainment is also planning to expand into Adultcon Radio by February 2005 and AdultconTV, which will broadcast shows from a Los Angeles-based strip club that include talent interviews, nudity and other "special activities," West added.

Adultcon opens its doors on Sunday, Oct. 10. Check the Adultcon website for ticket and show information.
