LOS ANGELES — Following its debut this year, XBIZ Berlin set the stage for next year’s return to the hub of Europe, where it will bring back an expanded variety of opportunities, with executive networking, education and entertainment on tap for digital media business owners and operators.

Presented by TrafficPartner and its family of leading industry brands, XBIZ Berlin ran from Sept. 11-14 at the Catalonia Berlin Mitte Hotel, uniting European adult industry leaders with their global peers for an unparalleled opportunity for learning, networking and enjoyable social events.

Among the event’s highlights were XBIZ Berlin’s educational series, sponsored by NETBilling, along with the WIA Power Brunch, Epoch’s 20th Anniversary Oktoberfest Bash, the Flirt4Free Happy Hour, Webmaster Karaoke and the closing party at Kit Kat Klub.

Attendees were impressed with the new city and new venue for XBIZ’s annual European event, offering an enthusiastic endorsement for those planning next year’s trip:

“Productive meetings. Provocative panels. And good times with friends, old and new. XBIZ Berlin was a great show in the land of wurst!”

— Todd Glider, BaDoink

“The XBIZ conference in Berlin was the first one that I attended. I’m relatively new to the adult industry but was among the panelists on two panels on Monday representing CAM4. Even though I was a bit nervous at the start, the professional assurance and warm welcome from the XBIZ staff, especially Leah Mahi, made me feel at ease. The panels breezed by, and afterward, I had a lot of great conversations and business discussions with other fellow attendees.”

— Jan Brockmann, CAM4

“As expected, the XBIZ show in an awesome new city [such as] Berlin exceeded our expectations. It was great to see some new faces as well as touch base with our current affiliates and traffic sources in a great environment. The event was really well organized with lots of fun, new experiences. Walking away with promising new business, this is a show I’m really looking forward to attending next year! Thanks XBIZ!”

— Marissa, ImLive

“I am very pleased with the turnout at XBIZ Berlin. It was a great opportunity to meet and network with new people I normally don’t see at the shows. It was the right mix of business and pleasure. “XBIZ Berlin was a great show! A lot of great business opportunities for Flirt4Free and the nighttime events were a blast!”

— Jasmine, Flirt4Free

“I can recommend that everyone join the XBIZ conferences and will certainly do so again myself. The event in Berlin was very professional, in a beautiful hotel in the [city’s] center. Yet the vibe was very relaxed and friendly which is the best way to do business and network with people. Big thanks to the XBIZ team!”

— Alex Lecomte, JuicyAds

“XBIZ Berlin was a great show. The hotel was set up perfectly for conducting business and networking. The schedule was a great mix of work and fun to develop and foster our new and existing relationships.”

— Matt Mund, Mobius Payments

— Diego Hernández Dàvila, M Group

“Two days of meeting friends, partners and new potentials went by like a blast. Very ‘Berlin like’ location in the heart of Berlin Mitte, nice choice by the XBIZ team for the first XBIZ in Germany. ‘Klein aber Fein’ as the Germans would say — effective and targeted meetings and conversations, [overall] a successful XBIZ for us. Looking forward to the next XBIZ in L.A.!”

— Stephan Wetzmüller, Coinsnap

“Berlin proved itself to be a fine city of choice for this year’s XBIZ European show. Catalonia Hotel’s friendly service coupled with the hotel’s ideal layout provided the perfect environment for a show, with courtyard and inside lobby meetings appearing to be in full force over each day of the show. Overall, a quality event was put on by the amazing team at XBIZ along with the tremendous TrafficPartner who [outdid] themselves with an ‘über the top’ presence and involvement at the show!”

— Lane Farinacci, ProcessingLane

“XBIZ Berlin was a great chance to meet the movers and shakers, not only from the German-speaking market but from all over the world.”

— Slavo, Adult Translation

“I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, and give props to the XBIZ crew who are forever going above and beyond!”

— Jo from KiwiSourcing

“XBIZ Berlin was a very productive event for us, [with a] good mix of business and fun. Met some great new people and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel. We are glad we were part of this event. Good Job XBIZ!”

— Anthony, LALExpo

“XBIZ Berlin was everything we were looking for in this market and more. Very intimate and all meetings are with real decision makers in the industry who are very easy to approach and talk to, and even better they listen and are open minded.

I would recommend this show for all and especially for the white collar background people as it’s a great way to understand the industry, with business done professionally and the parties afterward — but not recommended for the lightweights (work hard, play harder). [Add in] great organizers who really made us feel welcomed and introduced us to the big circles. We really felt at home.”

— Adan, Safe Names

“Berlin was our first foray as an event sponsor in the adult entertainment world and we were delighted with how our first conference went. Coming from a pure technology background, we were unsure of what to expect, but were happily surprised to see how many potential partners, platforms, studios and performers wanted to meet with us.

This conference was well planned and perfectly placed just prior to the other European events, making approaches to this market very easy. It has provided us with the opportunity to meet and showcase our products with the key partners we wanted to see, spending quality time with them. This also created a platform for us to organize many follow-up meetings at the market that came next in Europe.

Primarily, we came to the market with an objective of delivering a live-streaming 4K/3D/VR solution, and judging by the initial feedback, we are encouraged by the many companies inquiring about our product. The response was far greater than our expectations, as many of the companies already involved in adult VR content didn’t see Terpon as a competitor, but more as a solution provider, who has a unique ability to work closely with them and understand their needs. Our Berlin roundtable discussions also raised some interesting points, which has now pushed us to bring forward the production of our high-end camera solution, a spin-off product from live-cam technology solution.

We realize the market is maturing in the VR space and that the software solutions to integrate them are already pretty good in the adult content sector, in comparison to the mainstream market. Content producers are actively engaging in VR, understanding the emotional triggers and rewards that this new immersive technology is providing. Still, we have identified that the adult market still needs education and reference points in the VR space, which is why we are planning for a VR conference early in 2017, where we will be inviting key industry tech executives and decision makers to participate.”

— Jean-Claude Artonne, Terpon

“I immediately felt the nice atmosphere of the show and met up with some people that were eager to hear more about Traffic Company [and] in turn I learned a lot about their companies and what they do. It turned out to be a great fit, so I definitely expect some new business after this meet-up.

The show had some great seminars that you can attend to learn a thing or two from other companies [and] I think it’s always interesting to have different perspectives from different types of companies since this is bound to give the audience some interesting insights.

I would like to thank the organization for putting on this event. Sometimes, as attendees we forget how much effort it takes to make sure everything works out well, so a big compliment for the XBIZ crew! Keep up the good work!”

— Wouter Groenewoud, Traffic Company

“XBIZ hosted such a great event! Not only has it been a great new location and experience, but more importantly, I was very pleased to see many great business partners. It was a tremendous pleasure to be a part of it.”

— Eva Zankel, Webbilling

“We are thrilled to have positioned Traffic Partner as the Presenting Sponsor for XBIZ Berlin. Berlin is our backyard, with our brand new Digital Performance office located there, so we had the chance to have a tour of the office so people could see our new facilities and have a taste of what Digital Performance and Traffic Partner is all about.

The show this year brought many new faces and some major players in the industry that we do not see at other shows leading to some unique deals and quality face to face time while having the chance to see a unique and vibrant city.

The location was perfect, mixing art, style, and comfort for all attendees. XBIZ Berlin delivered the perfect environment to mingle and do some amazing business, and we at Traffic Partner were pleased to be the Presenting Sponsor of this successful event.”

— Stinger, Traffic Partner
