Cam Star Uses Show Proceeds to Fund Ferguson Protesters

SAN FRANCISCO — Adult cam star Sasha Pain made headlines this week for her decision to use some of the proceeds of her sex shows to help protesters in the embattled city of Ferguson, Miss.

A few days ago, Pain, her boyfriend and video journalist Jessica Hollie road tripped for 34 hours straight from San Francisco to Ferguson to raise awareness for the strife that has shaken the small town since a young black man, Michael Brown, was shot dead by the cops about two months ago.

The cam starlet streamed footage of the protestors on her social media accounts, in hopes that her strong fanbase and many followers would help rouse awareness and compassion for those affected by the tragedy.

"I want people who follow me to have to see it," Pain told Daily RFT. "This isn't something that happened to me or in my town, but it's something that happened to a citizen of my country and a son to somebody. That's enough for me to be here. This is what people need to focus on."

Pain, a mother, is also using some of the proceeds from sex shows she is filming on the road to purchase food and supplies for the protesters, including water bottles, gas masks and first aid.

"Everything that I make while I'm here that I don't need to feed myself, the people I'm with and over my bills is going toward buying food for protesters and gas masks," she said. "They're going to do what they're going to do. That's not my place to be a part of it unless they ask me to be. But I will do what I can to make it less painful, more safe and easier on them because that's what I'm here for."

While Pain has received some heat on Twitter from detractors who find the source of the funds questionable, many others have lauded her effort.

A Twitter user with the handle @lionsfnheart tweeted, “Smh the hate being tossed at [Sasha Pain] is beyond ignorant. Smh do a good thing and haters jump all over.”
