Bijou Teams with Raging Stallion for Theatre Screenings

CHICAGO — Adult theater venue The Bijou Theater has made an agreement with gay studio Raging Stallion to screen titles from the company’s catalog as part of their weekly theater schedule.

Starting Feb. 8, “Grunts: The New Recruits” will be showing for a weeklong run. Directed by Chris Ward and Ben Leon, the military niche blockbuster features Jake Deckard, Roman Ragazzi, Steve Cruz, Ricky Sinz, Victor Steele, Aaron Summers, Kamrun, Justin Christopher, River Fiasco, Max Schutler and R.J. Danvers.

“Mirage” will start a weeklong run on Feb. 15. Directed by Chris Ward, the big budget adventure feature showcases Middle Eastern locations and models, and is a follow-up to Raging Stallion’s 2006 blockbuster “Arabesque.” The cast includes Collin O’Neal, Jake Deckard, Dirk Jager, Huessein, Dominic Pacifco, Justin Christopher, Marc LaSalle, Matthieu Paris, Max Schulter, Rambo, Steve Cruz and Tamas Eszterhazy.

Both “Grunts: The New Recruits” and “Mirage” are nominated for 2008 GAYVN Best Picture of the Year awards.

The Friday night theater series is also planning on screenings of “Grunts: Brothers in Arms” and “Grunts: Misconduct,” both from Raging Stallion.

1972’s “American Cream,” as well as “The Idol” are nominated for GAYVNs in the Best Classic Gay category and will be shown at the theater, on Feb. 4 for the “Classic Movie Mondays” series. The films are from Bijou Video’s historic catalog.

The Bijou Theater, located at 1349 North Wells Street in Chicago, opened in 1969 and is the oldest gay theater still showing adult movies on the big screen. Along with the theater, Bijou World encompasses the adjoining bookstore and sex club and is owned by adult industry figure Steve Toushin.

Bijou World is also a wholesaler for gay adult video, and maintains an extensive library of films, video, magazines and books going back nearly a half-century. For more information on these screenings, please contact David Boyer at David@BijouWorld.com or call (800) 932-7111.
