Kink.com's Nevada Shoot Only Involved Oral Sex, Acworth Says

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The Kink.com shoot that the AIDS Healthcare Foundation complained to Nevada OSHA officials about featured no vaginal or anal intercourse, according to the studio.

Further, Kink.com's CEO Peter Acworth said, the formal complaint that was leveled at Kink is "contrary to AHF’s prior statements that it had no interest in legislating condoms for oral sex."

"It is clear that AHFs  ultimate goal is condoms and dams for oral and goggles for facial, which translates to making our business illegal," Acworth told XBIZ.

The shoot “Vegas Road Trip,” was referred to by the AHF in the complaint as “Hogtied Whores," featured oral sex between both women and men, Acworth said.

“As far as we’re concerned, this is a retaliatory complaint meant to intimidate us from speaking against them at the state legislature,” Acworth said. “AIDS Healthcare Foundation has a long history of abusing the Cal/OSHA process to harass the adult industry.

"There’s nothing in this shoot that would violate their AB 1576 bill, let alone existing federal OSHA regulations, which don’t even mention condoms," he said.

“We’ve said from the beginning that AB 1576 was a morality campaign disguised as a healthcare initiative, and this complaint backs that up. All performers on that set were tested, the sex was safe, and nothing in that shoot would violate AHF’s own stated preferences for adult film protocols," he said.

"Still, they filed the complaint. It’s either harassment, or the opening salvo in a bid to force performers to use dental dams and condoms for oral sex.”

Acworth noted that when asked about the discrepancy between existing regulations and the compliant filing on Twitter, the AHF, through its @fair4ca Twitter handle, cited a Nevada statute — NV Rev. Stat. § 244.345 — as justification for their complaint. The statute cited involves anti-prostitution laws.

Acworth said that "the move is another shift by AHF, which has previously stated that it supports adult film as a legal business."

"I just wish AHF would concentrate donor money on communities where HIV infection is actually a problem," he told XBIZ.

When reached late Friday, Michael Weinstein, who leads the AHF as CEO, made only a single comment over the “Vegas Road Trip” scene and complaint.

"We congratulate Kink.com for its commitment to film no vaginal or anal sex scenes in Nevada without condoms," Weinstein told XBIZ.
