'SAW: A Hardcore Parody' Earns XBIZ Award Nominations

LOS ANGELES — Blue Circus Entertainment has earned six XBIZ Award nominations for their first feature moive, "SAW: A Harcore Parody."

Producer/director Dick Chibbles released the "SAW" parody last fall through Pulse Distribution in conjunction with final movie is the mainstream "SAW" series.

“I am so happy about the nominations. I was floored to see four nominations for the movie and then two more nominations for my lead actors. Thank you XBIZ,” Chibbles said. “I owe it to everyone that took part in the creation of this insanity."

"SAW" landed nominations for Best Director-Individual Project, Best Screenplay, Parody of the year, Best Special Effects, Acting Performance - Female (Syren Demer) and Acting Performance - Male (James Bartholet).

“I’m very honored and proud to be nominated for Best Actress," Demer said. "It was so much fun to be part of something different and so unique."

Bartholet, a parody veteran with numerous non-sex roles throughout his career, did his first sex scene in "SAW."

"I'm very honored about this nomination, especially since it's for the first movie role that I had sex in," Bartholet said. "Thank you XBIZ and thank you to everybody who's voting 'SAW: A Hardcore Parody' was a great movie to work on, and I'm very proud of the film."

“SAW," which was one of AdultDVDEmpire.com ’s top sellers of 2010, is about the jigsaw killer going around putting some of the top-name porn stars in life-threatening sexual situations. It caught the attention of James Wann, creator and director of the mainstream "SAW" franchise, who gave high fives and blessings at the DVD release party in November.

The movie also stars Evan Stone, Lexi Belle, David Lord, Tommy Gunn, Asa Akira, Jack Vegas, Britney Amber, Jordan Lane, Amber Rayne, Ron Jeremy, Ginger Lynn, and Barrett Blade.
