The members include Adult Talent Managers, Gold Star Modeling, LA Direct Models, Lisa Ann's Talent Management, Type 9 Models and World Modeling.
In a joint press release, the group said "The purpose of the AEATA is to pursue the mutual interest of the licensed agents. Agencies that have obtained a license create a more responsible, professional and legal adult entertainment industry."
Membership in the group is open to all licensed agents serving the adult industry. Currently unlicensed agents are invited to a Dec 13 meeting to provide proof of a submitted license application to the state of California and receive associate member status, to be changed to full membership upon issuance of a license. Interested agents can make arrangements to attend the meeting by calling any member agency.
Future plans for the association include a website for members to privately post and communicate with each other regarding problems within the industry, which could include "discussions on talent and producers suspected of booking around agency contracts, talent that moonlights through unlicensed agencies, and producers that don’t follow through on payment for services rendered," according to the press release.
Members have agreed to respect each other's contracts, saying, "The AEATA will take great interest in the enforcement and long term viability of the licensed agents' contracts."
The association is still in the process of organization. Persons interested in joining should contact any of the member agencies for more details.
