Screaming O, ASFX.org Team Up for Univ. of Buffalo Sex Week

LOS ANGELES — The Association for Safe Fun Sex has teamed with The Screaming O to co-sponsor the University of Buffalo’s Sex Week, an annual event devoted to educating students of safe sex practices and providing tips and tools to make using condoms fun.

The partners said this relationship is supported by the campus’ two wellness programs — UB Wellness Services and SBI Health Education – and is a natural fit for ASFX, which has worked alongside The Screaming O since 2008 to promote the "Play Safe, Stay Sexy!" series of fun, safe sex education events.

“ASFX is the first association of its kind to provide expert information on sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancy prevention in a fun, fresh fashion,” said The Screaming O partner Keith Caggiano.

He added, “We jumped at the chance to join the crusade to help break the notion that condoms are a boring buzz-kill by hosting unique events that appeal to the sexually active and curious. And it’s an honor to give back to the University of Buffalo, my alma mater, in such a sex-positive way.”

In between rounds of Safe Sex Bingo — the winners of which will receive special Screaming O gift baskets — will be sex education and condom use presentations, and a sex toy demonstration as the game’s “half time” show.

Safe Sex Bingo organizers expect anywhere from 500-1,000 people to join the fun, and the first to arrive will receive free Screaming O gift bags that include 2012 calendars, Frisbees and Screaming O Condom Packs.

Each portable condom kit includes a Sensual O Sensually Thin latex condom with a matching Screaming O Vibrating Ring. It also features a fun sex positions booklet.

Safe Sex Bingo will take place Feb. 17 with a red carpet photo booth where attendees can pose for flashing cameras in front of a Hollywood-style banner featuring the presenting sponsors’ logos.

“We are very thankful for our partners but are particularly enthusiastic about having the support of UB alumnus and Screaming O partner, Keith Caggiano, involved in the program,” said University of Buffalo Sex Week representative Daniel Ovadia.

He added, “We’re looking forward to a fruitful and fantastic Sex Week.”
