Webmaster Chris Jones told XBIZ that he chose to promote adult content with a blog instead of more traditional TGP and MGP solutions because blogs are simply easier to promote.

"I've just gotten attached to the blog format," he said. "It's so much easier — I can use all the social-networking sites to promote my blog."

To that end, Jones has been slowly incorporating more standard adult news coverage and content, even when an entry might not justify a link to a moneymaking affiliate gallery.

"People really seem to appreciate the original blog entries," he said.

Jones' blog uses a variety of Web 2.0 bells and whistles, including an internal voting system that lets users boost popular stories and widgets on each blog entry and let users vote for that entry on X-Digg.com, an adult social-bookmarking website that emulates the mainstream site Digg.com.

Jones' redesign also includes a new banner atop the site, as well as cosmetic changes across the board.

On the back end, Jones uses the Wordpress blog engine to power his site.

"I tried them all," he said. "I tried Joomla, Blogger, a bunch of others, but Wordpress is just simpler and easier to use, although I might go back to Joomla in the future if I want to add more features."

Jones also runs a mainstream blog called TheHotJoints.com, which focuses on political commentary.
