Standard Digital Signs Distro Deal With Dynasty Distribution

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Standard Digital, the studio behind the long-running "Taboo" series, has signed a distribution deal with Dynasty Group Distribution.

Standard Digital produced the first six volumes of the "Taboo" series, which first hit the adult market in the 1970s and 1980s. Directors for the series have included Kirdy Stevens and Robert McCallum. Standard Digital's other titles include "The Animal in Me," "Playing with Fire" and "Daisy Chain," all of which will be distributed by Dynasty Group.

Dynasty Group President Jon Islas praised Standard Digital's classic series.

"The 'Taboo' series stands as one of adult's best-known movies," he said. "The fans of the movies — and there is a hardcore, dedicated base for these movies — can rattle off whole lines of dialogue from memory. Kay Parker, Nina Hartley, Colleen Brennan, Karen Summer, Dorothy LeMay, Honey Wilder, Juliet Anderson, Ginger Lynn, Porsche Lynn, Amber Lynn, Joey Silvera and Ron Jeremy have appeared in at least one volume of 'Taboo.'"

Islas brings with him experience as the head of Standard's last distributor, Addictive Entertainment. To that end, he sees classic adult entertainment as a growth industry.

"I've developed a strong relationship with my buyers during my time as general manager at Addictive," he said. "By focusing on classics, Dynasty Group Distribution will continue to give our customers unparalleled support and include them in upcoming marketing opportunities."
