SAN FRANCISCO — Gay multimedia company Titan Media Group will release its first title on Blu-ray, available tonight at the studio’s online store. “Breakers —1080 High Definition Blu-ray Director’s Edit” is the first gay adult movie to be released in Blu-ray disc format.

“We are very proud that ‘Breakers’ is the first gay adult film released on Blu-ray,” Titan founder, CEO and director Bruce Cam said. “[It] is truly one of the finest gay adult films ever made. Its outdoor panoramic scope is the perfect choice to show the world what Blu-ray high definition gay adult films should look like. Once consumers have seen the stunning quality of a TitanMen Blu-ray film, nothing else will compare. ”

“It is now clear that the HD format war has ended and Blu-ray hi-def has won. Our customers can now feel comfortable purchasing Blu-ray players and films knowing that it is the only HD format going forward,” Cam added. “I am also very proud that once again, TitanMen is leading the way forward with the highest-quality new technology and leading the gay adult industry in innovation."

Titan Media made the transition to shooting full 1080i HD films in mid-2007. “Breakers” was the studio’s first feature filmed using HD technology. Currently, all films from the TitanMen line are being shot in full 1080i using two Panasonic AJ HDX-900 cameras, each enhanced with a Fujinon wide-angle lens. To date, Titan has invested more than $300,000 in the highest-quality professional DVCPROHD cameras/lens and MAC G5 HD editing/authoring suites.

“I have seen the future and its name is Blu-ray,” Titan Media vice president Keith Webb said. “Once consumers have gotten a look at our films in glorious wide screen, Blu-ray hi-def, they will never go back to standard DVD or online streaming.

“Watching TitanMen films in Blu-ray is like watching live action going on right in front of you; it feels like you can almost reach out and touch the performers,” Webb added. “This is truly the biggest leap forward in entertainment technology, far surpassing the leap from VHS to DVD. You have not seen hardcore action until you’ve seen it in Blu-ray hi-def on a 50” wide-screen HDTV.”

A Blu-ray player or Sony Playstation 3 console is needed in order to view movies on Blu-ray formatted discs. For more information about Blu-ray, click here.
