Chi Chi LaRue Searches for a New ‘Powertool’

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. —Channel 1 Releasing founder and legendary director Chi Chi LaRue has launched a nationwide search for the star of her newest production, “Powertool 3.”

“The ideal candidate is not only stunningly handsome and extremely well-endowed, but he must also possess that special charisma and unquenchable sexual appetite that only a true ‘Powertool’ star has,” a C1R spokesperson said.

“Candidates who think they have what it takes can either show up at one of the official ‘Search For The Next Powertool Star’ events taking place around the country or visit the Catalina Video website for more information on how to apply online,” the spokesperson said further.

The official search started this past weekend at a live appearance by LaRue at Play nightclub in Nashville.

LaRue’s next live appearance is scheduled for Feb. 2 at Faces nightclub, in Sacramento, Calif., followed by a live club date on Feb. 23 at The Pittsburg Eagle, in Pittsburg. Interested individuals can go to the C1R website to see an events calendar.

The original “Powertool” is generally thought of to be one of the best gay adult films of all time and the title was included in the Catalina Video library, which was acquired by C1R last year.

LaRue said this was her inspiration to bring the series back to life.

The first “Powertool” title was directed by John Travis in 1986, and starred renowned performer Jeff Stryker, as well as Tony Bravo, Jeff Converse and John Davenport, among others, in a jailhouse tale of men and their equipment.
