XBIZ Publisher Tom Hymes on G4 TV
On January 13, G4 TV, which bills itself as "TV that's plugged in," offered its viewers an inside look at the adult entertainment industry; set against the AEE show floor and featuring interviews, adult stars and in-depth reports on various segments of the industry.
G4 is reportedly the most podcasted cable network in America, and is available to more than 65 million cable and satellite customers in the U.S..
Hymes' interview, conducted at his XBIZ office, covered several of the industry's current concerns and opportunities, and was aired in several parts throughout the two-hour show.
Other segments featured Stormy Daniels, Randy Spears, Tera Patrick and Ron Jeremy.
"I'm a big fan of G4," Hymes said. "I had a great time doing the interview, and anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with the future of digital media in general and adult in particular. I haven't seen the piece but kudos anyway to G4 for taking the time to put together what I hear was a positive and entertaining segment."
"Attack of the Show" hosts Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn hosted the AEE coverage and showcased some of its events and featured products.
"In recognition of the event's growing popularity," according to a company release, "G4 will delve even deeper into the industry's iconic event with a combination of humor, irreverence and intelligence that gives viewers an unprecedented look at adult entertainment industry's annual party in the desert."
Keeping in the spirit of its technology roots, G4's coverage featured such show-stoppers as a "USB-equipped smart vibrator and a latex sex suit with computer-controlled sensors," while talking to inventors about the latest in adult novelty technology.
G4's resident movie expert Chris Gore also provided a countdown of his top 10 DVDs, featuring them in his "Cast Away Collection."
G4 is part of the Comcast Entertainment Group, parent company of E! Entertainment Television and E! Online; The Style Network; and G4, "offering the last word on gaming, technology, animation, interactivity, and Internet culture for the male 18-34 demo."
