VAN NUYS, Calif. — Digital Playground has announced that the highly-anticipated follow up to blockbuster adult feature “Pirates” will begin production early this year. Directed by company co-founder Joone, “Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge” is scheduled for fall release.

“‘Pirates II’ has creatively turned out to be a much bigger film than the first one,” Joone said. “We have been working on just the visual FX alone for more than a year. The fans will not be disappointed.”

Tommy Gunn reprises his role as the title character, renegade pirate Capt. Victor Stagnetti. Also returning to the cast is Evan Stone as rogue pirate hunter Capt. Edward Reynolds, along with Digital Playground contract star Jesse Jane as first-mate Jules. New to the “Pirates” franchise are Digital Playground exclusives Shay Jordan, Adrianna Lynn, Stoya and Katsuni.

“Joone and I are very excited, The ‘Pirates II’ script is brilliant and promises to exceed all expectations,” Digital Playground CEO Samantha Lewis said. “Another epic feature in the making, this film will dazzle existing fans and captivate new ones.”

“Pirates” was hailed by many critics as the most ambitious project in the history of adult films. Building upon the film’s success in the adult market, “Pirates” received an R-rating from the Motion Picture Association of America, propelling it into mainstream recognition and distribution.
