MTV Orders Another Round of Tequila

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — MTV has ordered another 10-episode season of "A Shot At Love with Tila Tequila," the cable channel's reality series featuring the softcore model.

According to Nielsen Media Research, Tequila's show was the second highest rated cable TV show for the week of Dec. 17, coming in second to the NFL's Bears-Vikings game on ESPN.

Tequila achieved fame as a swimsuit and nude model, often under her given name of Tila Nguyen, which she used when she posed for Playboy's online Cyber Club in 2002. She has appeared as a character in the video game "Street Racing," has been on cable TV programs — including hosting "Pants-Off Dance-Off" for the Fuse cable programming service in 2006 — and was identified on the short-lived NBC game show "Identity" as having more than 1 million MySpace friends in 2007. She also designs clothing and has recorded a music CD.

MTV has announced that it is rounding up a new group of suitors — both straight men and gay women — to vie for Tequila's attentions in the second season.

MTV also announced an overall production services agreement with "Shot of Love" producers 495 Productions and Sally Ann Salsano.

"Thanks to the creative talent and vision of Sally Ann Salsano, 'A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila' was one of our big breakout hits for 2007," Tony Disanto, Executive VP of Series Development & Programming for MTV, said. "We are now officially expanding our relationship with Sally Ann and her team at 495 Productions and look forward to her next slate of projects including another 'Shot At Love,' 'That's Amore,' and more great, compelling TV for our viewers. We're thrilled to be in business with her."
