XBIZ Awards 2008 Nominations Period Begins

LOS ANGELES — The nominations phase of the 2008 XBIZ Awards will begin Thursday and continue through Dec. 31.

Now in its 6th year, the highly regarded XBIZ Awards will feature expanded categories in the areas of web and technological achievement, as well as new awards presented for the first time to outstanding video producers, performers and studios.

The 2008 XBIZ Awards will take place Feb. 7 at The Highlands in Hollywood, Calif. Persons or companies wishing to submit a nomination for consideration must be a registered user with XBIZ.com.

Award winners will now be selected by three different groups of voters:

  • Registered members of the adult entertainment community will vote on one set of categories;
  • XBIZ staff will vote on another set of categories;
  • Industry organizations, including Women in Adult (WIA), the Free Speech Coalition (FSC) and the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP), will vote on a third set of categories.
  • The different voting categories are color-coded for easy identification on the Award Categories page of the XBIZ Awards website.

    The XBIZ Awards will be presented at a star-studded red carpet ceremony that anchors the XBIZ Hollywood ’08 Industry Conference, which runs Feb. 6-8 at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, Calif. Admission to the XBIZ Awards is included with conference registration.

    "The expanded 2008 categories reflect the growth and expansion of XBIZ’s product line, which now spans across all of the major sectors of adult entertainment. We are thrilled that we’re now recognizing an even wider spectrum of industry excellence," XBIZ President Alec Helmy said.

    Sponsorship opportunities for the 2008 XBIZ Awards and XBIZ Hollywood Conference are still available. Contact Kristen Kaye at kristen@xbiz.com or (310) 820-0228, ext. 702.
