CellPhone-CashBoxes made its official launch Thursday as an SMS-based cellphone retrieval program that can be displayed as a banner inviting users to input their cellphone numbers. During the April 1-30 debut period, webmasters can earn payouts of $1.50 for every valid cellphone entry collected.
According to Matthew “Chipmunk” Sclier, marketing manager of SexMoney.com North America, CellPhone-CashBoxes only applies to the U.S. market and unlike typical banners, which often divert traffic, CellPhone-CashBoxes will not send the surfer away from the webmaster's site.
“No matter if you run dating sites, link lists, paysites, TGPs or any other kind of site, gay or straight, CellPhone-CashBoxes are a great way to generate extra income,” Sclier said.
Once the surfer inputs their cellphone number, they are sent an SMS message asking them if they would like to chat, and once that happens, Sclier said, the number is valid and the webmaster is paid.
After the initial CellPhone-CashBoxes debut, payouts will be reduced to $1 for every confirmed number.
The launch of CellPhone-CashBoxes comes at a time when SMS use in the United States is slowly beginning to align with European statistics. Mobile technology company InphoMatch estimates that nearly 2 billion SMS messages were sent in the first quarter of 2004, an increase of 650 million from the first quarter of the previous year.
