DuoCash, which operates a global network that lets consumers pay for web services using prepaid phone cards, will be offering transaction processing at no charge through March 2005, and a 1/3 discount for April.
DuoCash also has announced that its online merchants may surcharge consumers for the DuoCash processing fee - a practice prohibited by the VISA and MasterCard bank associations. This, potentially, makes DuoCash a free service for online merchants.
"Banks and the card associations are becoming ever more restrictive on adult merchants", says Michael Sperber, Director of Merchant Acquisition. "The time is right for DuoCash to make a push into the market with this program. After all, free is not a deal you're going to get from the banks."
In other news, DuoCash announced that Al Case has succeeded Victor Nappe as CEO of DuoCash. Victor will remain as founder, and continue to spearhead new product development and distribution strategies.
Also, DuoCash, with the addition of its most recent distributors, is now available at more than 20,000 locations in the US, with 6,000 locations being added in Canada in the next 90 days.
