VAN NUYS, Calif. — Adult film companies Digital Playground and Adam & Eve have partnered to produce “Pirates,” a new film staring DP’s own Jesse Jane and AE’s Carmen Luvana.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Joone, the movie will be shot entirely in high-definition format, following the trend started by DP in its 2004 release “Island Fever 3.”

“This is one of the most incredible endeavors in the history of adult,” said Adam & Eve Producer Meredith Christopher. “The scale of the film is absolutely mind-boggling.”

“Island Fever 3,” released in September, received acclaim from both industry and mainstream press for its high-definition footage and was reported on in Hollywood trade paper Weekly Variety.

“This is a groundbreaking time in adult entertainment,” said Bob Christian, head of production for Adam & Eve. “When two major production companies like Digital Playground and Adam & Eve – and two phenomenal contract stars like Jesse Jane and Carmen Luvana – create something so incredible together, there is definite magic in the air.”

Jane received international recognition for her recent work with Digital Playground, picking up best actress awards at both the Delta di Venere show in Milan, Italy, and at the 8th Annual Venus Award Show in Berlin.

Luvana received recognition during 2004 for her work in Digital Sin’s “My Plaything – Jenna Jameson 2,” winning half of the Girl/Girl prize from the X-Rated Critics Organization in August.

The film is currently in production and slated for release during 2005.
