Vertigo Video Starting With Gonzo

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Hoping to “make porn fun again” by making storylines more attractive to females, a pair of industry veterans told XBiz they are forming a new gonzo production company called Vertigo Video.

Vertigo Video is set to launch in September, according to Vic Thomas and T.J. Direda, who are teaming up to form the Chatsworth, Calif.-based company.

Direda previously was chief of marketing for Pure Play Media and Thomas lead sales for Private North American.

“[We] have a ton of surprises in store for consumers and for the industry itself, things that will make porn fun again," Dierda said. "The idea is to give some of the control back to the females.”

Dierda said that the company’s plan is to make “unapologetic, hardcore” gonzo.

Vertigo Video has already created five hardcore storylines with its first release being a hardcore teen movie, “Mad at Daddy”; a male violation story titled, “Penalty Box”; and a blowjob number called, “Suck Start My Heart.”

"It seemed like the right time to pull the trigger on a company that will be more female friendly," Thomas said. "Not only have we started to groom young directors, we have been looking for a dirty female auteur that can push the envelope for us."
