MSIDA, Malta — Publishmedia Ltd. has announced the beta release of zProtect, intended to combat security issues facing advertisers, brands, and publishers, including phishing and malware seeding.
According to the company, zProtect is the result of a 2015 side project for a CPA ad network, and today is setting a new level of security standards for the online marketing industry.
“As issues increased it was [increasingly] necessary to keep track of traffic routing, so it was decided at the beginning of 2017 to finish the service and make it accessible to the public as well,” explains a zProtect spokesperson. “The aim was also to create an affordable service [that] provides easy access through an API with scanner settings that can be adjusted to the client’s needs, which guarantees the best solution for their environment.”
The spokesperson points to issues faced by ad networks using Smartlinks, which can complicate efforts to track the redirected traffic.
Currently, zProtect is available in a closed beta targeting specific geos, with global coverage planned for November and 3G services later this year.
