SugarDVD Bids on Lauren Conrad Sex Tape

LOS ANGELES — Online adult DVD retailer SugarDVD has offered $500,000 for the exclusive rights to a sex tape allegedly featuring Lauren Conrad and then-boyfriend Jason Wahler, who both starred in the MTV reality show “Laguna Beach.”

Angie, assistant to SugarDVD CEO Jax Smith, confirmed the offer to XBIZ, but said she has not seen the tape.

“We were approached by a third party claiming to have the tape,” Angie said. “So somebody is shopping it and we have been contacted, but we haven’t seen any of the footage.”

Conrad answered questions about the rumored existence of of a sex tape on her website Friday.

"Jason and I would like to make it clear that we did not make a tape with us having sex," she wrote. "Jason and I are both shocked and hurt that people would say such horrible things about us. I can't believe that somebody would go to such great lengths to try to damage my reputation."

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton first broke the news about the alleged tape on his site. Multiple sources told Hilton that Wahler, who has been arrested three times in the past year, is looking to sell the tape before he goes to jail. Wahler is due to serve 60 days in the Los Angeles County Jail after being sentenced March 6 for punching a tow truck driver while intoxicated.

“If this tape exists and the footage is good, it stands to live up to recent celebrity sex tapes starring Paris Hilton, Chyna and Kim Kardashian,” Angie said. “Since we were involved when the Kardashian sex tape story broke, it’s clear SugarDVD will be a player in the celebrity sex tape marketplace.”

Conrad’s claim to fame is as one of the eight teenagers from wealthy families that MTV followed for its series “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County.” Conrad, or “LC” as she was known on the show, narrated the first season. She now stars in “The Hills” on MTV, a “Laguna Beach” spinoff that tracks her career in the fashion industry.
