Siouxsie Q Signs With Ikigai Marketing and PR

LOS ANGELES — Performer, writer and activist Siouxsie Q has signed with Ikigai Marketing and PR, making Kristel Penn her official publicist.

“Kristel gets me in a way that is rare,” said Siouxsie Q. “My career is a multi-faceted constellation of advocacy, politics, creativity and sex — I don’t fit into boxes well. I’m excited to work with someone who has no desire to put me into one. Working with Kristel does, in fact, feel like getting sprinkled with pixie dust and taught how to fly. I feel so grateful for her hard work and belief in me.”

Siouxsie Q got her start in the business dancing at the unionized, worker-owned, Lusty Lady Theater in San Francisco, and has worked as a performer in adult films since 2010. She has served as the director of policy and industry relations for the Free Speech Coalition, the adult industry’s trade association, since May of last year.

“I have so much admiration for Siouxsie and what she’s built for herself from the ground up,” Penn enthused. “She’s a force to be reckoned with because she’s demonstrated that her versatility extends beyond her on-screen presence. While we were deep in the trenches fighting Prop 60 here in Calif., Siouxsie was on the front lines as an advocate for our industry. She pours her heart and soul into everything she does and that kind of talent and authenticity is rare. It’s an honor she’s chosen me to accompany her on the adventure ahead.”

She is also a playwright, singer/songwriter, weekly columnist for SF Weekly and creator of “The Whorecast” podcast, which showcases the diverse voices of the adult industry. She has lectured extensively on sex and sex work, and is regularly quoted and featured in the mainstream media, including CNN, USA Today, Cosmopolitan, Wired, Alternet, Buzzfeed and Fusion. Her debut book, "Truth, Justice and the American Whore," was published in 2016 through 3L Media.
