LOS ANGELES — Jasmine Jae possesses a rare quality among porn stars... mystery. While the European star exposes every salacious inch of her figure for fans, she remains something of a distant, “dark star,” a shadowy anomaly with a strange gravitational pull.

Even the origin of her exotic look is impossible to place, except to say that she looks like sex. The Brit’s allure is due in part to her geographic distance from the San Fernando Valley, but it’s also a conscious choice.

“When you're getting naked and letting the public watch you in all manner of intimate situations,” Jae said, “seeing parts of you that you, yourself, can only see with a hand mirror, it's nice to keep some mystery and intrigue!”

This feature is an attempt to answer some of the questions about the intriguing performer who is making big waves on American shores.

Jae was born in Birmingham, England on August 31, 1981. The only thing atypical about her middle class upbringing was her hyperactive sex drive.

“I was always the one bugging my boyfriends for sex,” Jae said. “I was always faithful to boyfriends to begin with, but after a while I would find myself bored and my mind wandering to other people and fantasies.”

After high school Jae enrolled in the Aston Business School in Birmingham to study business management and marketing. The hope was that this general degree would help keep her career options open. She graduated with first class honors and became a marketing manager for eight years. Much like her early, unadventurous boyfriends, this mainstream career left her dissatisfied.

After meeting porn veteran Keiran Lee at a social event, Jae and her husband, Ryan Ryder, both decided to get into the adult industry. In 2012 Jae shot her first scene with Lee for Brazzers.

“If I'd had a ‘civilian’ job that I loved and was totally satisfied with, there's no doubt I would not have done porn,” Jae said, “but it turns out the job I love is porn so I think I was always going to end up down this route.”

When Jae entered the industry at the age of 30, her perspective and experience gave her a professional edge over younger starlets. She found that porn shared many similarities with her corporate career, though it contained fewer spreadsheets and cubicles. For the first time in her life, Jae was in complete control of her career. The adult industry also allowed her to use her degree more than ever.

“I treat my work in the adult industry the same as when I worked for a large corporation,” Jae said. “I am responsible, reliable and a total professional... the fact that four plus years on and I am busier than ever is a testament to my conduct.”

Along with her work ethic and business acumen, Jae also has a body built for porn: a fit physique, plump lips, a clit piercing and a 32 E bust.

“I have always wanted big boobs,” Jae said of her most noticeable feature. “I always felt out of proportion. Having them done was a total self-confidence thing.”

Jae feels more comfortable and confident naked, than in clothes, but she doesn’t consider herself an exhibitionist.

“Yes there has to be a certain level of exhibitionism to do the job I do, but I'm not one of these girls who is like ‘look at me, look at me!’ all the time.”

While porn requires Jae to flaunt her physical attributes more than she naturally would, she maintains that her sex scenes are not much different than her sex life off set.

“I love raw, intense, hardcore sex as much off camera as I do on camera. I'm not one for caressing and making love.”

After shooting many memorable scenes for titles like “Fake Taxi,” Jae’s mystique migrated to the states where it captured the imagination of fans and critics alike. In 2015 and 2016 she received back-to-back nominations for XBIZ’s “Foreign Female Performer of the Year.”

This year she was picked by Airerose Entertainment to headline their annual showcase with “All Access Jasmine Jae.” The two stars that previously headed the series, Carter Cruise and Abella Danger, both went on to win XBIZ’s “Best New Starlet” in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

With this showcase, Airerose hopes to further introduce Jae to the North American market and establish its brand more firmly in the European scene.

The film showcases a number of firsts for Jae: double vaginal, double penetration, interracial double penetration and girl/girl anal.

“I had done DV and DP in my personal life, so I had a little practice beforehand to make sure I could handle it,” Jae said. “Girls would tell me DP is so much better than just anal, and I’d have to agree!”

While she gives credit to director Derek Dozer, Jae’s influence can be seen onscreen.

“Every scene in the film has been my idea, reflecting my fantasies from anonymous sex with a dangerous stranger to interracial double penetration,” Jae said. “I also handpicked the talent.”

“All Access Jasmine Jae” is just one project the star has in the works this year. In addition to her male masturbator for Kiiroo, Jae is rolling out a second sex toy line this fall and will be fronting two new series in October, including “Jasmine Jae: Cock Hunter.” She is also hosting the U.K.’s PRP Awards in November.

Some might expect Jae to follow her success across the Atlantic, but she remains at a distance, living in Birmingham.

“I don't have any plans to relocate to L.A.,” Jae said. “It's nice to travel and be abroad for months at a time but my family and friends are in the U.K. When it's all said and done, that's what matters.”
