LOS ANGELES — Mad Sin Cinema is accepting submissions for director Shane Ryan's new independent mainstream horror film, “Ted Bundy Had a Son.” And performers in the adult industry, a spokesperson said, are encouraged to apply.
“Ted Bundy Had a Son” is a spinoff of the underground trilogy “Amateur Porn Star Killer,” created by Ryan in 2004. The third film in the trilogy starred Regan Reece, and an unreleased parody co-starred Sunny Lane. That parody will be released sometime later this year under the title “Amateur Porn Star Killer: Hardcore.”
In the years since the trilogy Ryan has “directed more arthouse fare,” according to a spokesperson, but has continued to cast adult stars such as Joanna Angel and Tommy Pistol — both of whom are featured in Ryan’s “The Owl in Echo Park.”
Ryan recently produced “Samurai Cop 2,” which co-starred Kayden Kross, Lexi Belle, Misty Stone, Rachel Roxxx, Zoey Monroe and Charlotte Stokely.
Ryan ended the “Amateur Porn Star Killer” trilogy — which is about a Ted-Bundy like serial killer/rapist who records his crimes and makes snuff films — in 2008.
"After nearly a decade, I figured out a way to bring new life to the character," Ryan said. "And I thought it'd be a lot of fun to give actors, non-actors, adult stars — anybody who wants, in any country and any language — the chance to direct their own scene."
Full actor/director/writer credits will be given to anybody who records themselves speaking to the camera about the serial killer character in the film. Ryan said he would welcome submissions from the adult industry.
"I'd like for this feature to have more adult film actors on board as director than any film in history,” Ryan said.
Ryan says he would love to see Skin Diamond direct her own scene.
"I think she'd be great," Ryan said of Diamond.
