'Marriage 2.0' to Screen in Portugal

LOS ANGELES — Marriage 2.0,” the groundbreaking adult movie that addresses the complex question of whether it's possible to have a committed relationship based on sexual honesty, will be screening in its entirety at the opening ceremony of the 1st Non-Monogamies and Contemporary Intimacies conference in Lisbon, Portugal, on Friday.

“The continued enthusiasm for this movie is amazing,” notes Marriage 2.0 producer and screenwriter, Magnus Sullivan. “I can’t think of an adult film since the '70s that has screened in so many public settings to packed houses.

"The continued appeal of this movie demonstrates that there is an appetite for modern narratives with explicit sex artfully integrated into the story; it demonstrates that the adult industry is capable of making movies that appeal to global audiences far beyond it’s current market reach; it demonstrates that adult performers are capable of delivering believable performances on par with the best of indie film; it demonstrates that there is tremendous untapped potential for our content.”

Daniel Cardoso, conference organizer, remarked, ”'Marriage 2.0' will be screened at the 1st Non-Monogamies and Contemporary Intimacies Conference as it serves to introduce attendees to how contemporary relationships are multifaceted topics that motivate people to create art, to do research and to be activists.

"The Conference Organization is pleased to help stretch the limits of what is considered ‘appropriate’ for a professional conference on relationship dynamics. Upon announcing the screening of 'Marriage 2.0,' several participants immediately expressed their enthusiasm about the movie being shown."

Sullivan will be conducting a Q&A with the audience in Lisbon via Skype following the screening.

The  Non-Monogamies and Contemporary Intimacies conference gathers a multitude of researchers from around the world, and this year’s Conference is co-organized by two Portuguese research centers: CICS.NOVA and CES — Center for Social Studies (through the research project INTIMATE). The conference will be hosted by the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the New University of Lisbon. The conference is online here.
