VeriMe Mobile Age Verification Service Launches

LONDON – VeriMe is a simple and secure online adult age verification (AV) solution available for mobile phones.

“Unlike most other AV systems there are no cumbersome forms, no documents are required and the minimum personal details are divulged; all customers need is their mobile phone and verification can take place in a matter of moments,” the company said, adding that VeriMe also reduces verification costs by as much as two-thirds.

VeriMe has presented to the Determination Board of the Authority for Television On Demand, the U.K.’s independent co-regulator for the content of video on demand. The solution is compliant with all ATVOD rules and guidelines.

VeriMe chairman Rob Johnson said,"We were approached by a client who was struggling to find a route through the regulations and laws surrounding the online IP streaming of adult content.

“They were age verifying using a system that required production of photo ID; the method was clunky for their customers, expensive to run, and they were achieving poor match rates.”

Johnson added,“We produced VeriMe as an adjunct to their existing service. After we developed it we gave a live demo to an industry forum and we were bowled over by the overwhelmingly positive response, so much so that we decided to launch the product at XBIZ EU where we are proud to be sponsors.”

Johnson will be speaking on XBIZ EU’s panel on age verification on Friday.
