NAPA, Calif. — Vibratex says the Magic Wand gained sales momentum thanks to recent exposure in Shape and Cosmo magazines.
Both publications featured the Magic Wand in time for Valentine’s Day.
“This trusted toy has been loved by millions of consumers and recommended by leading sex therapists since the 1970s, so a ‘best seller’ it is,” the company said.

The veteran brand says the Magic Wand beat all previous sales records in 2013 in a double digit growth spurt. During the year, the brand transitioned to an updated look, revised branding from the old “Hitachi” to the streamlined “Magic Wand Original,” and also introduced stronger construction and gently updated componentry. The re-branded Magic Wand was launched last June.
Vibratex, sole importer of the Magic Wand for more than a decade, now offers an acrylic stand for retailers to show off a demo Magic Wand on a table or counter, as well as table tents and shelf talkers to create some “pop,” and empty Magic Wand boxes to enhance the size and impact of a display.
