N.Y. Times Profiles Porn Star Turned 'D-list Diva'

NEW YORK — Former porn star Gina Rodriguez (aka Demi Delia) may not have become a household name, but she’s managed to gain notoriety for some of mainstream’s celebrity train wrecks seeking their moments of fame.

Rodriguez is profiled in a New York Times article that lists some of what she calls her infamous “D-List” clients including “Octomom” Nadya Suleman, Lindsay Lohan’s parents (Michael and Dina), Joslyn James (of Tiger Woods infamy), Sydney Leathers (the Anthony Weiner scandal girl) and more.

The former performer even engineered Leathers’ deal to star in Vivid Entertainment’s “Weiner and Me,” according to the article.

Rodriguez’s adult career in the ‘90’s was also touched upon, noting that she appeared in nearly 60 films, modeled for Playboy and was married to veteran adult star Randy Spears that ended in divorce in 2008. She said porn wasn’t for her and decided to reinvent herself as a porn talent manager.

Her mainstream break came during the Tiger Woods cheating scandal in 2009. “I knew Joslyn James and brought her to California and took her to talk to Gloria Allred, who was a friend of mine,” Rodriguez told the Times. “After that, other girls in the Tiger scandal started coming to me. Then the Charlie Sheen girls. It was turning into a mistress business, which is not what I had intended to do.”

But other scandalized and cash-strapped types knocked on her door including Octomom, Tila Tequila and “Teen Mom”  Farrah Abraham. Rodriguez was able to get them to check into rehab centers for free in exchange for hyping the centers in the media.

Rodriguez's Los Angeles-based company, GR Media also handles reality TV stars from hit shows like “Jersey Shores,” the “Real Housewives” series, and for a brief time she represented White House gate-crashers, Michaele and Tareq Salahi.

The “D-List Diva” is also hoping to open a New York office. Her goal, as it’s always been, is to get her clients talked about, despite their infamy.

“At least they’re on some sort of a list, and that’s what I tell them,” she said. “At least people know who you are, and that’s all we care about.”
