Huccio Rolling Out 4K Ultra HD Porn

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Porn shot and displayed in ultra-high definition is on its way.

Huccio.com launched last week, touting that it will be the first adult studio and distributor company to master and release 4K Ultra HD porn downloads, which will allow porn fans to see every minute detail of specific anatomical parts and bodily fluids that turn them on.

4K Ultra HD offers four times the resolution of 1080p HDTV — twice as many pixels in each direction, horizontally and vertically.

The company, led by founder Tony Tsai, is planning a formal 4K Ultra HD launch on Dec. 1, offering $24.99 monthly subscriptions and pay-per-view options. Huccio plans to roll out new titles each week.

Until the launch, however, curious surfers can gain free membership on Huccio.com that provide access to stills and four-minute teasers released in H264, or Blu-ray, format.

Tsai spoke with XBIZ briefly this week to answer a few questions about Huccio, the technology and anticipated consumer reaction for 4K porn content.

XBIZ: How will the 4K content be distributed?

Tsai: We will stream 1080p and will provide 4K H264 downloads. Quicktime 4K movie files are currently about two-to-three times larger in data size than HD files. This all changes once the HVEC codec hits, which we anticipate to happen in the next two months.

HVEC compression will allow for 4K streaming and file sizes to come within HD territory. In terms of the content itself, 4K is our default format so our brand new 4K library will be quite future proof for the next decade.

XBIZ: How about the razor-sharp content? Will it be too sharp for porn fans?

Tsai: The whole "OMG, 4K is too detailed" line is the same old story we heard 10 years ago when HD hit. But does anyone only download standard def anymore? HD porn is the defacto standard and 4K will be no different. If any of the naysayers would take a look at our video in our members section, I don't think anyone will complain about the level of detail.

XBIZ: Why ultra high-def and why now?

Tsai: We timed our company debut around a time when 4K panels were under $1,000. Computers are just starting to support 4K natively. Heck even phones are starting to shoot and playback 4K.

Which brings up another point, not only are we pushing the 4K platform, but part of our focus is to produce content with an emphasis on great cinematography. We want to bridge the cinematic feel with erotic content. 4K is just the next format so at the end of the day, the quality of the content itself is key.

We are a brand new company with some new ideas. Our base camp is Los Angeles but our team is from different parts of the world. We have a few things up our sleeve that we haven't revealed yet.
