Lady Gaga Costume Designer Atsuko Kudo Tapped for 'Sex in Venice' Feature

LONDON — Latex costume designer Atsuko Kudo, who has created outrageous garb for Lady Gaga and others, was tapped to clothe the porn stars in Harmony Films’ latest feature “Sex in Venice.”

"Porn stars have never looked this elegant and sexy," the film’s star Scarlett Revell said, referring to the cast as they walked through Venice wearing the creations.

Revell, who commissioned Kudo, said the clothing “upped the ante” for the women in the film. “They were like Pied Pipers,” Revell said of the women, each of whom wore the specially made latex creations tailored specifically for her. “Tits out, people following them across the Rialto Bridge, photographing them. My mouth was open the whole time, because they just turned it on. Just to see them walking is so powerful.”

"I dress the girls like I would dress myself," Revell added.

A Brooklyn, New York transplant by way of L.A., Revell now lives in London and said she gives Harmony a female perspective that’s just as hardcore, but more stylish. "I look at the earrings, the line of the stocking, every aspect of her dress," Revell said. "If you saw one of my girls in a hotel I want guys to be stopped in their tracks. Like if you saw a model from a Vogue magazine who wasn't anorexic."

Revell noted that the latex dresses were a welcome surprise for the cast, used to the same wardrobe of porn-standard lingerie. "These Atsuko Kudo dresses are just beautiful, and the girls look so sexy in them, but for the most part women have much higher standards for each other.

"I'll sit down and go over every aspect of the costume to make sure that she looks as beautiful as she can. Because I've got to be turned on by it, too," the star said.

The movie is Revell’s second for the studio and also stars Britain's Samantha Bentley, "Russian Princess" Hennessy, Coco and Mia, along with Marco Banderas and Tony DeSergio.

The film is set for a summer release.
