Porn Legend, LBO Founder Bobby Genova Passes

LOS ANGELES — Porn legend and founder of LBO Entertainment Group, “Bobby G” Genova passed away earlier today.  Genova was just shy of his 80th birthday.

Genova’s daughter Susan wrote of his passing, “It is with love, sadness and a heavy heart that I must say that my dad, Bob “Bobby G” Genova, peacefully passed last night after an extended illness that culminated with a diagnosis on Dec. 29 of prostate cancer, stage 4 with metastasis to the bone and lung. He then got a diagnosis last Thursday of pneumonia on top of everything else, and while the doctors were concentrating on treating the pneumonia these last couple of days, the cancer slipped out of control and became terminal."

He passed in the arms of his wife of more than 50 years, Freddie Genova.

Genova began his adult career in the ‘50’s in New York City and ultimately landed in Los Angeles in the ‘70’s where he established his companies including Mark IV Productions, Mark V Productions, Mark VI Productions, VCR and LBO Entertainment Group.

His daughter recalls Genova’s “bad boy” persona and his groundbreaking productions including the “Mr. Peepers Amateur Home Video” series that she said started the reality porn genre along with niches including big boob and anal that showcased early works of Max Hardcore, Genova also worked with Bobby Hollander, John Stagliano, Ron Hightower, Sean Michaels, Rodney Moore and many others.

Numerous porn stars also crossed Genova’s path including Amber Lynn, Sunset Thomas, Misty Rain, Tiffany Million, Rebecca Bardoux, Debi Diamond, Houston and more, many of whom went on to stardom.

Genova is survived by his wife, Freddie; two dogs, Max and Mollie; cat, Rufus; parrot, Rosie; two daughters, Susan and Madelyn, two son-in-laws, Don and Mark, four grandchildren, Robert, Andrew, Jenna and Lisa, and a new great grandson, Chase.

The industry pioneer’s vast library of productions is now for sale. Email sgenova@earthlink.net for information.
