CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Smash Pictures' eagerly anticipated spoof "Fifty Shades of Grey: A XXX Adaptation" is now available for purchase on DVD.
“Today was a wonderful day with our release of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey a XXX Adaptation,’” Smash Pictures Vice President Stuart Wall told XBIZ. “The response from both our fans and customers has been outstanding."
The parody, a re-imagining of E.L. James' record-breaking "Fifty Shades" book trilogy, is toplined by Allie Haze and Ryan Driller as college virgin Anastasia Steele and kinky billionaire Christian Grey, the young couple at the heart of James' story.
Initially conceived as a three-in-one parody, "Fifty Shades of Grey: A XXX Adaptation" will now spawn two sequels, the first of which — "Fifty Shades Darker: A XXX Adaptation" — will begin shooting next month.
"We're bringing in three new characters from the book for 'Darker,'" Wall teased.
"Fifty Shades of Grey: A XXX Adaptation" is written and directed by Jim Powers and costars Julia Ann as Christian's one-time sex teacher, Elena (AKA: Mrs. Robinson), Alexis Ford as Anastasia's best friend Katherine Kavanaugh, Johnny Castle as Elliot Grey, Logan Pierce as Boy Toy and Jazlene Jade as Leila the Sub.
