Blinkx TV Partners With Playboy.com

SAN FRANCISCO — In a move to expand its online reach, Playboy.com has partnered with audio/video search engine Blinkx.tv.

The deal will make content already available via Playboy TV Jukebox, an online collection of the company’s most popular shows, searchable through the Blinkx service.

"We're excited to partner with Blinkx because they offer a great video search service that will help our audience more easily find their favorite shows online," said Michael Sprouse, senior vice president of marketing for the Playboy Entertainment Group.

Initially, Playboy plans to make shows like “Naughty Amateur Homes Videos,” “Totally Busted,” “7 Lives Xposed,” “Adult Stars Close Up,” “Sexy Girls Next Door” and “Sexcetera” available through the service. According to Sprouse, if all goes well, Playboy will roll out more shows on Blinkx in the near future.

"Blinkx is happy to be partnering with Playboy.com because our users will be able to find an even wider range of content from news to sports to adult entertainment," Suranga Chandratillake, founder of Blinkx, said.

Under the agreement, Blinkx will index the Playboy content according to its proprietary searching technology, allowing users to bypass traditional keyword searches.

The deal with Playboy TV further adds to the search engine’s vast empire of content. Blinkx users currently have access to more than 3 million hours of TV and viral video content online.

The search engine offers content for both an adult and general audience and allows users to filter out adult content by clicking its “safe button.”
