LOS ANGELES — The Screaming O and the Association for Safe Fun Sex (ASFX) are set to chaperone LA CANVAS magazine’s Downtown LA Prom, taking Angelenos back in time to relive the hottest night in high school.

“The Screaming O is taking ASFX as its date and inviting the Scream Team Prom Committee to give the student body Safe Sex Kits they only wish they’d had in high school,” the company said. The Safe Sex Kits include a condom, lubricant pack, and award-winning Screaming O Vibrating Ring.

“This is the way every prom should be — we all know what happens when curfew hits, and being ready with a Safe Sex Condom Pack in your pocket or purse is a prime way to impress your date,” The Screaming O partner Keith Caggiano said. “The Screaming O and ASFX are putting a sexy spin on this year’s Downtown LA Prom and making it more fun — and safer than ever — to get laid on prom night!”

The Downtown LA Prom will have a masquerade theme inspired by director Baz Luhrmann’s popular interpretation of “Romeo and Juliet.” Guests will revel in live music, classic cocktails, and the historic atmosphere of the 100-year-old Alexandria Ballroom — but only those clad in costumes or a mask may attend.

Live music will include DJ sets from KCRW’s Anthony Valadez and Valida, Beat Mass, MonaLisa and Marlon Fuentes.

LA CANVAS Magazine’s Downtown LA Prom is scheduled for May 19 at the Alexandria Ballroom, located at 501 S. Spring St. Guests can party from 9 p.m.-2 a.m., and all are encouraged to show up early to enjoy an open bar from 9-10:30 p.m.
