New Frontier Betting on International Markets

BOULDER, Colo. — New Frontier Media continues to find new pay-per-view growth in international markets, particularly in Latin America and Asia.

The company, in an executive conference call this morning, said that it generates about $1.5 million per quarter from international revenue and is about to make investments abroad, including launching new channels in Latin America and Europe. It just recently launched in Asia.

New Frontier also plans on developing new and unique content packages and investing in technology beyond North America, CEO Michael Weiner said, allowing it to expand with an "international footprint and realize scalable efficiencies."

Weiner noted VOD revenue of its adult content in the U.S. "continues to be stable and was flat for the second consecutive quarter."

"New Frontier Media currently distributes over 15,000 video assets a month to over 28 countries worldwide," Weiner said. "In the next several months, we expect that our distribution will grow in existing and new countries in Latin America and Asia, and we also expect to make inroads into Eastern Europe."

"We expect the revenue trend for our international business will continue to improve and will be a key component for our growth over the next three to five years."

Executives with the Boulder-based company spoke to investors about the ramped-up international initiative after revealing quarterly financials.

The company's revenue was approximately $14.2 million for the past quarter compared with $11.5 million in the same prior year quarter.

New Frontier said its web content revenue was "generally flat."
