Hustler, Digital Playground Also Suspend Porn Production

LOS ANGELES — Hustler and Digital Playground also put their productions on hold following Tuesday’s announcement that a porn performer has tested positive for HIV.

"While we have suspended all future production plans in the short term, we will conclude our current shoot which will wrap within the week," Rob Smith, Hustler's video director of operations, said in a statement.

"We have no plans to begin additional production until we get a better overview of the current situation."

Digital Playground’s CEO, Samantha Lewis, meanwhile said that it also had canceled shoots "for the foreseeable future."

Vivid Entertainment and Wicked Pictures, a condoms-only production company, on Tuesday said they would suspend production. Also, Pink Visual has indefinitely suspended production and Jenneration X Studios, run by Jenna Haze, has planned a 30-day suspension of film production.

Steve Orenstein, Wicked’s president, said that his company is waiting for more information from AIM Healthcare over the news on the unidentified infected performer who tested positive at AIM's Sherman Oaks branch.

"How long they are postponed will be determined by the info that is released from AIM," Orenstein said.

AIM has placed a quarantine “on filming any person one or two generations removed from sexual contact with the current patient," according to a statement made earlier on Wednesday

"Upon completion of testing that cohort, in about 10 days or two weeks, as well as highly sophisticated analyses of the genetic components of the infection, the nature of the exposure will be determined," AIM said.
