Morehead Directs First-Ever Verotik Title

LOS ANGELES — Singer Glenn Danzig’s alternative comic book company, Verotik Publishing, makes its first foray into adult films with the release of “Grub Girl.”

Produced in association with Moorehead productions, “Grub Girl” debuts at the Adult Entertainment Expo in January. The movie was directed by Craven Moorehead and stars Brittney Skye as a zombie hooker who comes back from the dead to seek revenge -- and have sex. Also featured are Charmain Star, Teanna Kai, Eva Angelina and Gigi.

“‘Grub Girl’ was originally going to be put out by Hustler Video, but I decided to go with Craven after seeing a few of the videos he directed for Peter North,” Verotik owner and former Misfits singer Glenn Danzig said. “He had a sick, twisted vision of this movie that I always intended it to have, too.”

Verotik publishes popular adult comics series such as Death Dealer, G.O.T.H. and Ed Lee’s “Zombie Hooker,” which “Grub Girl” is based upon. The movie is the first live-action adult production for the company.

“I was really excited to be given the chance to do something of this nature,” Moorehead said. “I’ve always loved horror movies and always been a fan of Danzig’s music growing up. It was different than anything I’ve directed before. It’s a very sick, twisted mix of horror, rock music and great sex scenes.”

The movie’s soundtrack includes songs from several underground rock bands as well as a previously unreleased track from Danzig.

“Grub Girl” will be distributed by NorthStar Associates with a street date of Feb. 7, 2006. NorthStar Marketing Director Michael Atkins said the mix of porn and heavy metal puts a fresh twist on the recent trend of hip-hop flavored adult movies.

“With all the success of the rap and hip-hop porn that has come to the market, we wanted to bring something to the metal and rock fans,” Atkins said. “This collaboration between a legend like Glenn Danzig and the directing and shooting expertise of Craven is like throwing gas onto an already blazing fire.”
