Hefner to Hold Q&A Friday

LOS ANGELES — Hugh Hefner will hold a Q&A session at the Nuart Theatre on Friday after the L.A. premiere of the new documentary about his life.

The Playboy founder will be joined by Academy Award-winning Brigitte Berman, who directed the doc entitled “Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist & Rebel.” Leonard Maltin, the well-known film critic and cinema historian, will conduct the Q&A at 7:15 p.m.

The 124-minute show, which is being distributed by Phase 4 Films, will also premiere at the Angelika in New York and at E Street in Washington on Friday.

The documentary not only focuses on Hefner’s publishing claim to fame, but also his history of battling censorship and campaigning for progressive causes.

The 84-year-old said on both “Nightline” and “Larry King Live” last week that he has no plans to retire from publishing despite of the potential sale of his adult entertainment giant.

The Nuart Theatre is located at 11272 Santa Monica Boulevard in L.A., 90025.
