According to the report, Kassel cited personal issues as his reason for vacating the post, but anonymous sources said discovery of his connection to the site was the real cause.
Oh My Hose featured photographs of amateurs in home settings wearing seamed stockings, pantyhose or high-heeled shoes or close ups of feet with painted toenails. Stockings notwithstanding, some of the women were naked.
Apparently, a “tipster” recognized Kassel’s wife in some of the site’s photos and alerted authorities.
Police seized a computer from Kassel’s office, but Will County Chief Judge Stephen White stressed that there was nothing illegal about Oh My Hose and that the sexually explicit photographs on the site involved only adults.
“I think he resigned because he did not want anything to affect the operation of the juvenile detention center,” White said.
Kassel had worked his way up from mental health counselor for the county to become head of the juvenile facility in 2003. Co-workers had only praise for his work and spoke highly of his character.
He told a reporter that he resigned voluntarily, but added that it was part of an “agreement,” and State Attorney Jim Glasgow seemed to hint that Kassel was asked to volunteer his resignation.
“You can’t hold a sensitive job supervising juveniles and have one of these [sites],” Glasgow said. “These two just cannot go together.”
Oh My Hose is no longer live as of this posting.
