VICTORVILLE, Calif. — Veteran performer Janine, who pleaded guilty to federal tax evasion charges less than a year ago, will be released from a medium-security federal facility to a halfway house this week, XBIZ has learned from photographer Earl Miller, a friend of Janine's and operator of the FreeJanine.com website.

"She should be out this week," Miller told XBIZ. "That's the deal they gave her."

In October, Janine was sentenced to six months in a federal prison to be followed by six months of probation at a government supervised halfway house. She was ordered to surrender on March 10.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons database shows her as still being in custody, and a June 10 post on her blog on FreeJanine.com said she had "36 days left" which would be this Thursday, July 16.

"She's been doing well," Miller said. "She's been working out. I expect to see a leaner, meaner Janine. Physically, at least."

Janine made her adult industry debut in 1992 in Andrew Blake’s “Hidden Obsessions,” and quickly became one of the industry’s most popular girl-only performers, having contracts with Vivid Entertainment and Digital Playground during her active career. Her first scene with a male performer was in 2004's “Maneater" from Vivid.

She also was featured in a celebrity sex tape with Motley Crue singer Vince Neil, appeared in the Howard Stern film “Private Parts” and was married to West Coast Choppers founder Jesse James. James and his current wife, mainstream actress Sandra Bullock, have custody of Sunny, Janine's and James's daughter.
