The site offers potential performers information across many categories, including "Your Pre-Porn Mindset," "Health Issues and STDs" and "Where Will Your Look Fit In?" Each section includes an essay that explains how different parts of the industry work, with advice about how to start and manage a long-term career in adult.

“This website has been in the making for a very long time, officially since around October 2008, which was when I came up with the concept, but unofficially since I’ve entered the adult entertainment industry as an exotic dancer and webcam girl back in 2002," Foster said. "To my knowledge, there is no other free online resource for women in the porn business such as GettingIntoPorn.com."

Foster said that before she got into the industry, she did her own research by reading extensively through industry news websites, message boards and other sources. In addition, she said she pored over porn-centric blogs and books to gather the information for her site.

"Though all these resources aided me in helping me piece together an idea as to what to expect when entering the porn industry as an adult actress, I was still very unprepared for many of the elements of the industry I found myself facing," she said.

Foster has a few other website projects in the works, including a message board for exotic dancers and a pair of adult paysites. One of her sites, PornWorthWatching.com, will feature her own news coverage of the industry.

“I love watching porn," she said. "I’ve been watching porn regularly since I was in high school. I always felt a little odd about it, especially being a girl, until I became an exotic dancer and met other women who also enjoyed watching porn. I’m a fan of quite a few performers, directors and studios. I’m also into quite a few niches as well. Being such a fan is probably what brought me into the porn industry."

Foster's credits include “Not the Cosby Show XXX,” “MILF Magnet 4” and “Erik Everhard’s Breast Meat.”
