'Draft Stormy' Movement Picks Up Steam, Mainstream Attention
Daniels, 29, who has been under contract to Wicked Pictures since 2002, has also written and directed features for the company. She has appeared in mainstream films and TV shows and has represented Wicked Pictures and the adult industry on AMC's "Sunday Morning Shootout" and in Washington, D.C., where she has lobbied Congress on behalf of ASACP.
Vitter, a conservative Republican who was implicated in the investigation of "D.C. Madam" Deborah Jeane Palfrey last year, was elected to the Senate in 2004 and will be facing his first re-election bid next year.
The Draft Stormy website was started by Zack Hudson, a resident of New Orleans and a fan of Daniels.
Speaking to TheDailyBeast columnist Max Blumenthal in an interview posted Monday, Daniels said that she had no knowledge of the "Draft Stormy" website until someone sent her a link.
"I had nothing to do with it," Daniels told Blumenthal. "People make sites about me all the time and I usually shut them down, but this one was really well done and I found it amusing so I went with it." Daniels also told Blumenthal she was no fan of Vitter.
"I have no problem with his sexual activities," Daniels said. "Who and I to judge? My issue with him is that he's a hypocrite. Call me what you will, but you can't call me a hypocrite."
Daniels isn't affiliated with a party but is playing along and may try for the seat.
"I am always up for a good fight," she said. "And I think anyone that knows me is more than aware of that. Politics can't be any dirtier of a job than the one I am already in."
