A New Season Of Hope

Ayrora
It's official: George Bush will remain in office as President of the United States of America for four more years. While the reactions of some in the adult industry are bordering on hysteria over imaginary woes to come, I want to assure you all that "the sky is not falling..."

Take a look around online adult industry message boards today and one of the hot topics of discussion that you'll find is the outcome of yesterday's Presidential election. Given the predominantly young and liberal makeup of this industry, it's no surprise that the mood is often one of despair after Bush's resounding defeat of Senator John Kerry. But these folks are in the minority.

In a historic vote, the people of the United States gave George Bush the largest number of popular votes ever cast in a US election, with an estimated 65% of registered voters heading to the polls. "There's a new season of hope before us," said the President in his acceptance speech, adding that "A new term is a new opportunity to reach out."

Beyond the Republican's Presidential victory is the favorable shift in the US Congress. A more conservative Congress, it will be better able to work with the President to pass legislation. Legislation that can impact our industry, and that is often contested – all the way to the US Supreme Court – where Bush will likely be able to make appointments; affecting the American legal system for decades to come...

If you feel that the increased focus on our freedom to "get naked" in the next four years is going to become more extreme, then the only solution you have is to make sure that your 2257 information is up to date, and if you want to survive in this industry, then you need to stay current on the latest changes in the laws in order to keep your business safe.

What's The Problem?
What's the problem with keeping your paperwork in order, and our industry clean of people who can't play by the rules?

If having our President reelected keeps us focused on doing the right thing, then we become less of a target – and our Industry is no longer as threatened as when criminals are free to use porn that features underage performers or that is used to rip-off consumers.

If you fear for your business' success, and its ability to operate into the future because of the increased scrutiny that you may receive, then you need to look inside yourself for the reason why. You don't have something to hide, now do you?

If you are not about keeping your operation clean, and making the adult industry a viable, long term option for the future, then you should be afraid – because no matter who the President is, to the mainstream, publicly tolerating illegal or obscene material is not acceptable.

While emotions ran high in this hotly contested battle over the future of our country, now is the time for our nation, and the world, to come together and work to build a better, brighter future. Regardless of what actually happens, however, as the man on the television said, "The work of the President goes on..." And as the President said "It's A New Season Of Hope!" ~ Ayrora
