Rock The Vote

For Americans, the freedom to vote is a right and privilege that many of our finest citizens have given their lives to protect and ensure. With the upcoming elections set to determine the country's course over the next four years, it's time for every American to cast his or her vote, and have their say, in our country's future...

While I could have just made this a quick "Get out and Vote for Bush on November 2nd!" spiel, I thought I would use today's column to highlight some of the steps being taken by industry groups and your fellow webmasters to encourage voting, with special thanks to Free Speech Coalition (FSC) Board Member and Adult Sites Against Child Pornography (ASACP) Executive Director, Joan Irvine, for keeping me informed of the latest happenings – which I now pass on to all of you:

Although XBiz has already reported on the industry's "Rock The Vote" efforts, this update is according to Irvine "...to highlight the various people/companies that are making an effort to mobilize the industry. It’s a way to create a grass roots effort and obtain defendable stats on the reach of the industry."

Don't Miss Out
You can't vote unless you're registered. In same states, people need to register by October 2nd. A list of Deadlines for Registration by State can be found here.

On Monday, September 13th at 2 PM PT, Kat Sunlove, Legislative Affairs Director, Free Speech Coalition, will be a guest on The Darren Austin Show (www.thedarrenaustinshow.com). She will discuss the industry voter registration campaign among other topics.

On Thursday, September 16 at Noon PT, Aly Drummond of AlyTV (alytv.com) will be encouraging people (even more than she is doing already, which is amazing) to register and vote.

AVN, AVNOnline and XBiz have Voter Registration banners on their front pages. Other associations and companies are doing the same. FSC is asking companies with affiliate programs to include voter registration information in their newsletters as well, in an effort to mobilize the adult site industry and their member base to encourage them to register and vote and urging them to keep their "erotic interests" in mind on November 2nd.

If you haven't yet registered to vote, please do so by clicking the button on XBiz' home page, so that we can obtain stats on the reach of the industry in affecting the political process. You can obtain Absentee Ballot Registration information here.

If you don't vote, you can't complain about what the future holds. Get registered today! ~ Stephen

It surprised me how many people admitted that they had used ChatGPT or similar services either to draft legal documents or to provide legal advice. “Surprised” is probably an understatement of my reaction to learning about this, as “horrified” more accurately describes my emotional response.
