Audacia Ray and the trick to casting porn

I like Audacia Ray despite knowing pretty much nothing about her. Since I represent America's desires and its picture of itself, she should probably run for something.

Ray will be directing a bisexual extravaganza for Adam & Eve in that company's quest to build brand recognition in addition to Carmen Luvana in one corner, Nina Hartley in another, and mail order marital aids in the next. She will help answer the question "what is an Adam & Eve movie?"

"I suddenly feel like I’m one of those dudes who wants to hire a 'non-pro' hooker," she writes, "because they want to see someone who doesn’t 'need' the money, who likes sex (because apparently a pro can’t possibly dig her job), who doesn’t 'do this' full time. These are the guys that ask, 'so what do you do in real life?' during a session."
You want someone who looks real enough to be accessible but fake enough to believe, who wants it but doesn't want it so much that it's embarrassing or awkward.
"Let’s face it," she continues, "though I will make my best effort to make my performers happy and comfortable on set, having sex in a porno is different than having it in your own bedroom. And that’s work."
As the nation's pre-eminent porn critic and bon vivant, I've found that movies which I otherwise would have really dug were compromised by directors diverting attention to themselves. I think the pitfall in such an exhibitionistic genre is not having the strength to leave the exhibitionism to the pros.

Ray seems, above all things, thoughtful. So I bet we're in for a great movie.

Nor will intrusive self-reference happen with Gram Ponante's NutFeast, as the part of me will be played by the jackal that had sex with Damien's mom.
