Bridging The Billing Gap

It’s hard enough to make sales on the Internet today without your payment process getting in the way. Many customers subconsciously seek ways to avoid making a positive purchase decision; and sparing themselves the drudgery of filling out another online form — perhaps using the reduced functionality of typical a Smartphone’s micro-sized keypad, may be just what a prospect that is “teetering on the fence” needs in order to say “no.”

Thus, reducing friction in the payment process as much as possible is a key ingredient for maximizing profits — but market realities such as technology, card association rules and legal issues can sometimes pose their own hurdles — which are difficult to surmount.

According to VS Media Operations Manager Brad Estes, the company has seen impressive returns from the seamless billing solution for one-click cam transactions that it offers to select traffic partners.

Recently, live cam powerhouse Video Secrets streamlined its point of sale procedures to a single click — integrating its billing system with adult industry staples CCBill and Epoch — Internet payment service providers (IPSPs) that process a substantial percentage of adult-related online transactions.

This high-level of market share means that approved affiliates can now upsell chat services without the customer being required to re-enter his or her payment details, as they are already on file with the billing company — mitigating some of the problems of old-school cross-sales, while reliably boosting profits through easy impulse purchases.

Ideal for adding live chat services to a paysite processing membership subscriptions through CCBill or Epoch, Video Secrets’ initiative illustrates the “focus on the customer” that is needed to prosper in this marketplace today; removing a major hurdle to an upsell.

Video Secrets says its system sends prospective customers to the same IPSP used by that customer at the affiliate’s website, leveraging their existing purchase history without re-entering their payment information.

According to VS Media Operations Manager Brad Estes, the company has seen impressive returns from the seamless billing solution for one-click cam transactions that it offers to select traffic partners.

“The affiliate landscape has changed dramatically over the past 16 years,” Estes told XBIZ. “We find affiliates to be more technically sophisticated and long-term revenue conscious than ever before.”

“Our one-click integrations with IPSP platforms and our Cam-Reg API solutions turn ordinary banner-clicks into intelligent, compelling and engaging customer experiences designed to drive affiliate revenue and build brand-loyalty with customers,” Estes added.

With solutions such as this profitable tool in place, the adult affiliate arena will likely continue to be a viable moneymaker for years to come.
