“We talk a lot about adult toys because Jamie sells them on her website, JamieWhite.com, but she doesn’t sell videos, so when we get videos that stray from the norm, we talk about them,” co-host Stench told XBiz, adding that the DVDs were “mostly fetish stuff, like feet and boobs.”
NorthStar Marketing Director Michael Atkins told XBiz that he listens to the show on his way to work every day and thought the hosts would appreciate some free product from an adult entertainment company, so he sent them a box full DVDs, hats and T-shirts to keep for themselves, hand out around the station or give away on the air.
The show’s hosts decided to do a little of each, giving some of the DVDs to actor Roger Cross, who plays agent Curtis Manning on the hit Fox Network show “24.”
The exposure was a promotional boon to NorthStar, according to Atkins, who said the company’s phone started “blowing up” immediately after the show aired. Atkins added that NorthStar is trying to come up with innovative ways to promote its brand and products in mainstream marketing channels.
“That kind of show appeals to open-minded, fun people,” Atkins said, “the kind of people who also would be interested in our movies.”
Atkins added that the company is “working on getting products out to a handful of other stations as well.”
