YouPorn to Reduce Mobile Ads to Heighten User Experience

NEW YORK —  YouPorn.com today said it plans to reduce the number of mobile ads and has upgraded its search filters as mobile traffic continues to balloon.

With mobile viewing growing demonstrably in popularity, increasing 10 percent from 2017 data, these in-demand updates will enhance the mobile user experience for all, said Charlie Hughes, YouPorn’s vice president.

“YouPorn is one of the most popular adult entertainment sites in the world, and we value our loyal user base,” Hughes said. “Through removing these ads, we are continuing to improve our user’s experience.”

The popularity of viewing on mobile devices continues to rise, now accounting for 76.5 percent of all traffic on the site, the company said. This marks a significant jump over the course of the last year, up from 66.5 percent in early 2017.

As part of the upgrade, users will notice a “drastic change” to the platform on mobile devices, Hughes said.

“By removing the mobile pop-under, as well as the mobile header and middle banner on browse and list pages, users will experience a streamlined viewing session without worrying about hidden windows when they close after their session,” the company said.

Categories can now also be combined when searching for content, as an improvement on filtering tools so users can find exactly what they are looking for, faster, the company said.

“YouPorn also continues to invest in translating the site into supported languages, including dynamic content and announcements, making the site more accessible on a global level,” the company said.

The popularity of viewing on mobile devices continues to rise among both men and women, the company said.

Men still hold the highest viewing percentage across all devices, but the percentage of female viewers continues to rise, with 25 percent viewing on phones and 24 percent viewing on tablets, compared to 18 percent on desktops. With 64.56 percent of YouPorn’s traffic being from phones, the company said.
